What Fun

Hannah likes archery
and so far she can
hit the deer on
the leg.
Shane enjoys fishing; his favorite part is reeling the line in. As a result of his need to reel, the bait never stays in the water long enough to catch any fish. He loves it and that is more important than catching anything.
The kids also discovered the joys of canoeing, playing with a K-9 dog, and petting a real hunting falcon this week.

Fun festivities

Hannah wanted to experience it all at the State Fair, but was only allowed a few rides, the train, and some exhibits. She had fun and wants to go back for more.
She discovered that she has some friends in Preston who are her age and enjoys them coming over to play in the pool, play dress up, watch movies, and play dolls with her.She is also greatful to Grandma for introducing her to the joys of carmel apples.
Shane has fallen in love with the farris wheel, it is fun to see him when it is in motion, he waits calmly while it goes up, shows the anticipation on his face as we reach the top, then bounces and makes all sorts of sounds as we go down and starts over again. He enjoys Hannah's friends too, but is content to let her play with the while he plas unenterupted with me and by himself. He too has discovered a love for carmel apples and covers himself in the gooey mess devouring every last bite then submitting himself to be cleaned when he is done.

School has started

Hannah is now a first grader in Mrs. Scott's class and she sits next to her best friend Kierra; Shane is in Kindergarten in Mrs. Gilmore's class, he also gets to go to Mrs. Jacobs class everyday to do therapy (he loves her platform swing). Both kids are just as happy as they can be - they love school and love learning (and spending time with other kids).

The last week of summer

Mom was sick, so we played nursemaid and were the best behaved we have been in our entire lives. We also took advantage of this last week of play time. Orientation was Thurs. we both like our new teachers and classrooms. We also played in the sandbox, swimming pool, and did as many crafts with Mom as she could handle. No more going to work with Mom.

Getting ready

We have been working with Mom, playing in the yard, and attacking our rooms this week. One more week for school to start, so Mom is making us try on everything we own to see what can be kept and what needs to be replaced.

Starting out

We are just starting this - so here is a little excitement from last week. Mom took us to Goddard to see the Tanganyika Animal Preserve. Hannah pet an aligator
A kangaroo almost touched Shane (Mom could not take a picture because she was holding Shane. We both rode a horse
and we saw lots more animals that they let us in the cages with or had a platform where you could touch them without being in the cage. Afterward we went to Wichita to a friends house for an icecream social - they had a movie for us to watch too, but we had too much fun with all the other kids to pay any attention to the movie.
